    Simon is an urban geographer, strategic town planner, infrastructure designer, regeneration consultant and consenting specialist with 30 years’ experience of leading interdisciplinary planning and sustainability teams. He is experienced in complex schemes involving transport-oriented infrastructure, also in early-stage policy, strategy and feasibility studies. In 2022 he completed a place-based PhD in Geography and Planning. Previously his career covered highways, rail, energy and water projects as well as urban regeneration. He supports Design Commission for Wales in panel reviews and workshops and is a Member of Bristol Advisory Committee on Climate Change. Simon’s recent work includes major regeneration frameworks: Bristol Temple Quarter, Frome Gateway and Bristol City Centre.

Max’s expertise lies in the overlap between Architecture and Urban Design, with a specialism in creating high quality housing schemes. Recent work includes producing Design Codes and subsequent detailed designs for Wichelstowe – a distinct new community just south of Swindon.

She is a Chartered Environmentalist and a full member of the Chartered Institute of Ecology & Environmental Management (CIEEM). Jenni is also an Approved Building with Nature Assessor.

    Dr Louis Rice is Head of the World Health Organisation Collaborating Centre for Healthy Urban Environments. He is an architect, urban designer and senior lecturer specializing in healthy architecture and urban design. Louis studied Architecture at Sheffield University and then worked as an architect and urban designer for over a decade in London and Paris. He is the author of numerous books and articles.

    Geoff is a Managing Partner at FCBStudios and an AABC-accredited conservation architect with a leading role in creative re-use and regeneration projects. He is currently working on the world’s oldest surviving iron-framed buildings at Shrewsbury Flaxmill Maltings, the Bath Abbey Footprint project, and masterplans for the National Museums of Liverpool and Liverpool University. Geoff is a member of the Historic England Historic Places Panel, lectures at several universities, and previously led award-winning projects at Hampton Court Palace and Windsor Castle.

    Richard is a co-founder of Design Engine Architects and enjoys working in all sectors and at all scales: from masterplanning to interior design, with architecture at the centre. Before the creation of Design Engine in 2000, Richard was a director of Architecture PLB, senior architect with Rogers Stirk Harbour & Partners, and an associate of ORMS. He has been the recipient of numerous national and international design awards during 25 years of practice, and also received the Stephen Lawrence Prize for his own house in Winchester. Richard has a particular passion for teaching and has been a regular visiting critic or external examiner at the Bath, OBU, Brighton, UCL Bartlett, Portsmouth and Plymouth Schools. Previously a member of CABE, Richard has been involved with several Design Review Panels across the South of England and now focuses solely on Design West.

    Tanya has been involved in leading some of the country's highest-profile projects: the Millennium Dome, the O2Arena, the London 2012 Stadium, the THFC stadium, so she knows a thing or two about delivering complex projects to immovable deadlines. More recently she has led the engineering design for the (sadly unbuilt) Bristol Arena and the Temple Quarter Enterprise Campus adjacent to Temple Meads Station in Bristol. As someone with mobility challenges, she also brings a practical understanding of inclusivity to all she does.
